Born and raised in rural New Jersey to Puerto Rican parents, Justin Gregory Lopez is an actor and vocalist based in the NYC area. He was most recently seen off-Broadway in the NY Times’ and Timeout magazine’s Critics’ Pick a cappella musical OCTET at the Signature Theatre playing nihilist tech junkie, Toby (The Magician/“Actually”). OCTET was written by Tony nominated composer Dave Malloy, directed by Annie Tippe with music direction by Or Matias. The live, original cast recording is now available for download or stream!
Justin was also seen in the cast of NBC’s Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE (and live cast album), has guest starred on Law & Order: SVU, has been featured on film, and has starred in regional stage productions all over the US.
Selected theatre credits also include off-Broadway's bare at New World Stages (dir. by Stafford Arima, chor. by Emmy winner Travis Wall), Che in EVITA at Asolo Repertory Theatre (FL), Armando in a revised PAINT YOUR WAGON at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, WA, which earned him two regional award nominations for his work in a supporting role (2016 Gregory Awards and the 2016 Gypsy Rose Lee Awards), Usnavi in IN THE HEIGHTS at the Ordway Center, The Schuster Center, and American Stage in the Park, and has participated in developmental work on the new musicals MEDUSA, LEMPICKA, OTHER WORLD, and Lin-Manuel Miranda's HAMILTON.
Justin currently resides in New Jersey with his fiancée and fellow performer, Isabel Santiago. He is a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association and client of Hudson Artists Agency.
